Serialized Inventory Items
|
DeepEnd enables you to track Serialized Items from the time you
receive them into inventory until they are sold to the customer.
This is valuable in cases where there are manufacturer quality
issues or if items are stolen.
DeepEnd continues to track Serial Numbers through the
Service Module for items that are
serviceable pieces of equipment.
|
- Receiving Serialized Items
When a Purchase Order is received, you have the option of
entering Serial Numbers for any serialized items being
received. Serial Numbers don't need to be entered when
the items are received - they can be entered later.

- Entering Serial Numbers for
Existing Items
It is not unusual to receive a purchase order during
a busy time of the day. In such cases, it may not be
convenient to enter serial numbers when the items are
received. DeepEnd enables serial numbers to be entered
at any time after the items are received. The number
serial numbers entered cannot exceed the on-hand quantity.

- Selling Serialized Items
When you sell a serialized item you are prompted to select
the serial number of the item sold from the serial numbers
on file. If the serial number of the item sold has not yet
been entered, it can be added on-the-fly during the sale.
